Who We Are

No man stands so tall as when he stoops to help a child.

Melbourne Shrine Club

Membership is comprised of Master Masons with a desire to be more active in the local community in regards to charity.

Shriners Victoria was founded at its inception meeting held on 24th April 2010, with more than twenty Master Masons indicating their desire to be a part of this wonderful philanthropic organisation. Since then, Melbourne Shriners have been busy fundraising through raffles, sausage sizzles and getting donations from friends and family.

We work under AAHMES Shriners. Shriners International is a fraternity based on fun, fellowship, and the Masonic principles of brotherly love, relief, and truth with about 350,000 members throughout the United States, Canada, Germany, Mexico, the Republic of Panama, the Philippines, Puerto Rico, and Australia.

Shriners and Freemasons

In order to become a Shriner, a man must first be a Master Mason. The fraternity of Freemasonry is the oldest, largest and most widely known fraternity in the world. It dates back hundreds of years to a time when stonemasons and other craftsmen on building projects gathered in shelter houses, or lodges. Over the years formal Masonic lodges emerged, with members bound together not by trade, but by their desire to be fraternal brothers.
